The term “buffalo” is commonly used interchangeably with “bison” when describing the North American animal in question. Although technically incorrect, “buffalo” is acceptable when there’s no chance of confusion with the true buffaloes of Africa.
“Commonly known as” doesn’t mean “is”. We can call a bison an American Buffalo all we want but it doesn’t magically turn it into a buffalo anymore than calling a Koala Bear a “Bear” makes it an actual bear.
to baracuda68 – if your wife seems to not be enjoying sex with you it is because you treat her like a blowup doll. which means, you are horrible in bed. get off the porn and be a man. a real man knows how to please a woman. you suck!
“The American bison (Bison bison) is a bovine mammal, also commonly known as the American buffalo. consider the term “buffalo” somewhat of a misnomer for this animal, as it is only distantly related to either of the two “true buffaloes”, the Asian Water Buffalo and the African Buffalo. However, “bison” is a Greek word meaning ox-like animal, while “buffalo” originated with the French fur trappers who called these massive beasts bœufs, meaning ox or bullock – so both names, “bison” and “buffalo,” have a similar meaning. In reference to this animal, the term “buffalo,” which dates to 1635, has a much longer history than the term “bison,” which was first recorded in 1774.[2] The American Bison is more closely related to the Wisent or European Bison.”
